Urgent Allergy Advice

Urgent Allergy Advice

25 September 2024

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has released a warning for people with a peanut allergy advising them to avoid mustard, mustard powder and mustard flour as these ingredients may have been contaminated with peanuts.

Whilst the FSA investigates which ingredients may have been affected, we urge all our students with a peanut allergy to avoid products containing mustard.

If your child has a peanut allergy, please ask them to speak to the catering team to check the daily allergen matrix and highlight any dishes to them which contain mustard.

Mustard may be included in ingredients such as dips, sauces, salads, pasta, curries, cake products and sandwiches –
so please get them to check.

This is a precautionary measure; at this stage none of the school suppliers have recalled products but we want to do everything we can to support our students safety and welfare.
