This workshop is 3 hours of psychoeducation about why and how teenagers self-harm. It also gives some advice on what parents can do to support their child. This is exclusively for parents of teenagers aged 12-18. It will help build on your understanding of your child's motives and patterns of self-harm. It will also highlight some types of support which have shown to be effective as ways for parents to engage with their teenager, to help reduce the likelihood of using this behaviour. It establishes ways you can help soothe the young person while managing your own emotional reaction to their behaviour.
