Sports Day 2016
Sports Day will take place tomorrow, 1 July. This is an important event in the Hampton College year, with all students encouraged to participate. House points are awarded to all event competitors, for match reports and for Tutor group competitions. Vega are the reigning champions; the other Houses are hoping to seize the trophy from them this year.
Students should come to school in their school PE kit; they should bring water, their school hoody and sunscreen!! The majority of the field events take place during the morning, together with some track events. Students are expected to turn up in the right place at the right time for their event but at other times are free to watch their friends compete and to buy cakes, sold in aid of charity, in the Sports Hall. The 100m, 200m and relay events take place in the afternoon; and students will watch from their House areas. Parents are warmly invited to attend the afternoon session; you should arrive from 1.40pm and enter the school grounds from the car park. One of the Student Services team will be there to welcome and direct you to the seating area.
We hope that it remains dry and that Sports Day will take place. In the event of bad weather the day will be postponed until next Friday, 8 July.
