The Hampton Christmas Showcase tickets are now on sale at our box office
Hampton College is a happy, thriving all-through school of just under 1700 pupils aged 4-19.
The all-through school was formed in 2012 when Hampton College (secondary) added a primary phase to meet the exceptional demographic demand on the Hampton development. The primary buildings now form part of the larger campus for Hampton College across the Eagle Way and Clayburn Road neighbouring sites.
The school is led by a Head of School for each phase. Each phase has a separate senior leadership team, but key members of each phase’s team work closely on an all-through basis. Some of our staff work across phase. There is one local governing body for the whole school, but separate standards committees at each phase, to ensure governors keep a really close eye on how our children and young people are progressing.
Children can join us in Reception (60 places) or in Year 7, when a further 150 places are available in our secondary phase. Children in Year 6 at Hampton College automatically have a place in Year 7. There are also some spaces for new students in Year 12 each year.
We are proud of the warmth and care our pupils receive at both phases. Together, we ensure a continuity of curriculum and support on the journey from Early Years to early adulthood.
This website gives you information about all of the age ranges at our school. This includes our very popular Sixth Form, with some subjects offered in conjunction with our trust sister school Hampton Gardens.
Hampton College opened in 2005 and has grown steadily each year since then. The school has enjoyed significant success in recent years, both in terms of recognition from OFSTED (four full inspections all Good or Outstanding) and in our public examination results.

The winner of the 14th series of The Great British Bake Off – #OurMatty !
Matty Edgell, from Hampton College, was crowned champion of the Channel 4 programme on Tuesday night. At the beginning of the episode Matty described himself as the “underdog” but stole the title and hearts of the nation with his buttercream three-tiered celebration cake showstopper, described by Paul Hollywood as “absolutely delicious” and the best he had tasted for a long time.
The PE teacher at Hampton College is back in school today after the whirlwind final and says, “what an experience and what a journey it has been. It has taught me as much about myself as it has about baking. I can’t thank the bakers, the crew and everyone involved in the process enough for making it so special. Both the trust and school staff and students have been incredible. I was worried about the students finding out, but they have been so invested, I got a standing ovation every Wednesday morning. It has brought the school community even closer. I would like to thank John Gilligan for supporting me with the auditions process back in the summer.”
The 28-year-old defeated his fellow finalists Josh and Dan on the final bake. His talent, dedication and humble nature has made the school, trust and city proud.
Alex Ford (Head of School - HC) – “Everyone at Hampton College is so very proud of Matty and we look forward to supporting him with the exciting opportunities he has on the horizon.”
