Key Stage 4

At Key Stage 4, students have the opportunity to complete one of three different GCSE courses; Electronics, Food and Nutrition, Textiles Technology and Product Design.

All of these courses follow the AQA Exam Board Specifications. The students following the course develop their skills and knowledge during Year 10 in order to maximise the chances of success during Year 11.

All students have to complete a 40 hour Controlled Assessment Task, in which they have to choose one of the exam board Design Briefs and research and analyse relevant information, before developing one of their Ideas into a Final Design. All of their design work is presented in a single folder.

The students also have to complete an examination on the theory that they have learnt during the course.
