Welcome to the Hampton college Physical Education department. We are proud of our PE and school sport and have had many successes since the College opened in 2005. The PE staff are highly committed to teaching outstanding PE lessons and providing a wide range of opportunities through a broad and balanced curriculum and by offering an extensive extra-curricular programme, at lunchtimes, through coaching workshops and school teams, that take part in local, regional and national competitions.
As a result of the hard work of the PE department and the excellent participation rates, the school was awarded the Silver School Games Mark.
Physical Education is a major core subject, compulsory for all pupils in year 7 to 11 and is offered as an option subject at Level 2 through GCSE Physical Education and the BTEC first award in Sport and at Level 3 as an A/S and A2 option in KS5.
Physical Education is regarded as a vitally important contributor to the school ethos, curriculum and extra-curricular program, as well as an important part of the Hampton community. The PE department has a high profile within the school and is committed to ensuring that the delivery of Physical Education provision and out of hours learning is of a very high quality.
The Department comprises of four full time specialist teaching staff. In addition, staff are employed to assist in the delivery of Physical Education out of hours learning.
